Volunteer With Us

Our incredible volunteers are helping make the Museum of Youth Culture a reality.

Volunteers are an important and valued part of the Museum of Youth Culture. Our volunteer programme teaches people creative industries and archival skills whilst working with unique, youth and subculture photographic content.

From a two week placement, to regular days across longer periods, our volunteers uncover some of the incredible stories of the archive helping us build a history of youth and subculture.

As a Museum of Youth Culture volunteer we train you in curation and digital archival skills such as adding metadata to our photographs, editing images and writing captions. You will learn about street style and documentary photography, as well as Britain’s rich social history. Throughout your volunteering we will support you in your career development, and we provide CV workshops to help you further your career in the creative industries, alongside creative workshops in photography and zine making.
